Recreational Indoor Soccer Leagues

Players looking for fun and exciting indoor soccer leagues don't have to go very far, as the Columbus Event Center is home to indoor soccer leagues that are set up to match the skills and abilities of players and teams who participate. For the beginner, or someone just out for fun, we have created a recreational division for our indoor soccer leagues. Likewise, we have formed competitive indoor soccer leagues as well for the most experienced soccer teams looking for great competition in the area.

Our recreational indoor soccer league is just that...recreational. It is a fun league for players of all skill levels and abilities. Anyone wanting to join the league is allowed to do so, as long as the league has not reached capacity. Players are placed on teams that are as fair as we can possibly create, with roster sizes to ensure that each player is in the game at least half of the time or more. All players must also be awarded an equal amount of playing time, and coaches are monitored to ensure that they remain positive and encouraging to all players. We also strongly support good sportsmanship from all of our league's players, coaches, parents, and spectators. Overall, our recreational leagues are fun for everyone!

Recreational league games will be played on Saturday mornings into early afternoon. Depending upon the number of registrants, players may be allowed to play in both Fall and Winter seasons if they would like. Otherwise, our Fall and Winter seasons may be broken down to allow certain age divisions the opportunity to play in one season, and the remaining divisions the chance to play in the other. For example, Under 10 age divisions would be allowed to participate in the Fall season, while players 11 and up would be allowed into our Winter season. These restrictions could vary from one season to the next, and will all depend upon the number of registrations received. Our leagues are brand new, on just our second year, so as they become more established, these changes may be necessary to ensure that everyone gets the opportunity to play indoor soccer in Columbus.

Required Equipment and Jerseys

With our indoor soccer leagues, the only equipment you will need to provide is a pair of shoes, socks, and shinguards. That's it! Shoes can be indoor soccer shoes, tennis shoes, or any other full shoe that does not have cleats. No cleats are allowed in the indoor leagues. For the safety of our players, we request that each player carries their soccer shoes into the building, so as to prevent water from getting on the rink floor, which could cause dangerous playing conditions.

There are no requirements for the color of socks worn in the games. All we ask is that they are long enough to cover the shinguards. Soccer socks do not have to match the color of your jersey. All players must wear shinguards, or they will not be allowed to participate in games. Also, loose jewelry and earrings are not allowed to be worn during games, so please plan accordingly in advance.

The rink will provide each player with a numbered jersey to be used throughout the duration of the league. These jerseys are being provided at no cost to our participants, but must be returned at the end of the season. Players and parents are required to take proper care of the jerseys, as they will be re-used for future seasons. Players will be charged a replacement fee for jerseys that are damaged for reasons not related to normal wear and tear. While jerseys are provided for free to use during the season, players may be asked to provide a deposit prior to the start of the season, which would be refunded back to the player upon return of the jersey at the end of the season.

There will be separate recreational and competitive divisions available. Team registrations are accepted for our competitive division only, while individual players must join our recreational division. Age divisions will depend upon the number of registrations received, and some divisions may be combined or coed to ensure a division can be held. If enough players register, age divisions will be created as follows: U6, U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, and High School. Additional adult divisions will be held if enough interest exists. Under 6 division will be played as a coed division, while all other divisions are open to boys and girls.
