| Important Letter Sent to Schools |
If you have a child in an elementary school in the Columbus area, be on the lookout for a special letter from the rink, full of great offers and information about upcoming league registrations.
The letters, which were dropped off at schools this week, provide the reason for why we have worked hard to keep the rink open here in Columbus, as opposed to allowing the rink to leave town. It's for the kids, and for the town in general to have something to do. There really is something fun for everyone at the rink.
In the letter, we briefly touch on each of the upcoming leagues. We would like to start a youth dodgeball league, as this is by far the most popular kids game on skate nights. The youth dodgeball league would be just $10 for 10 weeks, and will either be in a set league format (with schedule and standings), or an open session by age each week.
As for indoor soccer, we will again have the $5 discount for each new player that gets referred to our leagues. If you know of someone (friend, relative, neighbor, etc), bring them along to the leagues and we'll give you $5 off for each person you get to join. That means you could play for free just for bringing along your friends!
To help grow our hockey leagues, we are offering FREE hockey on December 13th, 20th, and January 3rd. There is absolutely no cost to play on any of these nights, and there is no gear to buy as we have everything you need at the rink. All we ask for is a phone call in advance so we know how many to expect (or you can email us too). Our hockey league starts up again in January 2010. New players can still play for just $20, and we'll throw in the $25 worth of free skating for new players as well. Otherwise, returning players are just $30, and practices can be added for $10 more.
We do also mention our two main skate sessions. While we are working on possibly adding others (for the youngest skaters, for example), we do encourage everyone to stop out on either Friday or Saturday nights for skating. We have family discounts available on either night (altough Saturdays are the best for families with young children), and coupons are available online as well.
We have also kicked off the first annual "Battle of the Schools." Near the end of the letters sent to the schools, we mention how families can bring out the letter for a free skate session for the whole family, including skate rental. This friendly competition rewards the school who has the most of these letters brought back to the rink (and used) with a free skate party for winning school! So, have fun as a family, and help your kids' school win a free skate party!
If you have any questions about any of these programs or activities, don't hesitate to give us a call at (402)562-5663. Or, use our online contact page for other contact information, or stop by and chat with one of our friendly employees.
