As we near the end of the regular season, there was quite a bit on the line for teams looking to position themselves for the playoffs in a couple of weeks. The Wild continued their hot streak, jumping into the second seed after beating the Penguins, 5-2. The Bombers, meanwhile, locked up a spot in the championship game with a 3-1 win over the Orbs.
Heading into this week's hockey games, there was quite a bit of room between the top spot in the standings, and the bottom. However, the way things played out this week, that gap was closed considerably, and all teams still have a shot at the championship game. It is setting up to be an exciting finish to the Spring league!
We've reached the midway point of our Spring roller hockey season. Two teams, the Bombers and Penguins, have identical records good enough for a tie for first in the league standings. Nipping on their heels are the Orbs, with the Wild not far behind.
Six was the magic number needed to win in Week 2, as the Orbs edged the Bombers, 6-4, and the Penguins go into the win column with a 6-2 win over the Wild.
Our Spring roller hockey season is now officially underway, and the Golden Orbs and Wild kicked off the season with an exciting game. In the late game, the Bombers took care of the Penguins. Here's how it all played out...
Another fun roller hockey season came to an end Monday night, as our Winter season wrapped up with playoff action. In the early game, the Hulks took home thrid place, while the Rockets defeated the Banana Monkeys for the league title.
Following another great night of roller hockey at the Event Center, we now know who will be playing for the league championship. The Banana Monkeys held off a determined Blue M&Ms team, while the Rockets took care of the Hulks, setting up a showdown between the two teams next week in the title game.
With just one week left to play in the regular season, the race for the top spot in the league standings is very tight. It got much more interesting after tonight's games, when the Banana Monkeys moved into a tie with the Hulks for the league lead. The Hulks do have the tiebreaker currently, and the Rockets are only one point back.
The Green Hulks remained in first place with a win this week in roller hockey action. But, nipping on their heels is a suddenly hot Banana Monkeys team, winners of their last two games.
This week, we had two great hockey games. The Blue M&Ms and Banana Monkeys battled it out for a first win, while the Rockets and Hulks skated to a tie.
