ThunderShock Secure Spot in Title Game
The Summer roller hockey league finished with an exciting, back-and-forth flurry of goal scoring action. By the final whistle, the ThunderShock had completed a doubleheader sweep heading into next week's championship game. The results of tonight's games had no impact on final season standings, as the yellow squad had already secured their spot in the finals last week.
Flames, Sea Monsters to Meet in Title Game
Heading into the final week of the regular season, a lot was on the line for setting the playoff matchups. Before last night's games, the Flames were at the top of the standings with seven points. One point back was the Bruins in second place, with the Sea Monsters in third with five points. The Vikings were already locked in to the Consolation game, regardless of what might have happened last night.
Tight Race to Finish Regular Season
With just one week left in the regular season, a tight race has developed in the Under 10 division to determine who will be playing for the league championship. In the Under 14 division, however, everything is pretty much set, with this week's schedule being a preview of championship week.

Exciting Games Begin Fall Hockey
Our Fall roller hockey season got rolling Monday night with two excellent hockey games to start the season. This league features four teams - Flames, Sea Monsters, Bruins, and Vikings - with almost five players per team this season.
Summer Hockey League Underway
Roller hockey is back in swing at the Event Center. Following a break for the Summer, we have now resumed play with our Summer season. This season features three teams, the Green Machine, Tsunami, and ThunderShock.
The first game of the new season had the Green Machine playing host to the Tsunami. The game was scoreless throughout most of the first period, until Alec Flyr took a pass from Austin Neuhalfen and found the back of the net for the first goal of the new season. Just over four minutes later, and with just half of a minute remaining in the first period, Flyr scored his second goal of the game, this time off an assist from Mason Klug.
In the second period, the Tsunami continued to expand their lead. With just under ten minutes to play in the game, Klug took a pass from Flyr for his first goal of the season. It wouldn't be his last. The two would pair up again just over a minute later to make it 4-0. Klug wasn't done yet, as he went on to add two more goals in just two minutes time. The Tsunami were in pretty good shape, up 6-0 with only a few minutes remaining in the game. But, they may have gotten too comfortable. With less than three minutes to play, Bo Behlen put the Green Machine on the scoreboard. Just :42 seconds later, Khamden Cone scored to make it 6-2. Then, with just 1:48 remaining in the game, only :27 seconds after their second goal, the green squad had cut the lead in half with Behlen's second goal of the game. With the score now at 6-3, the pace of the game picked up, as both sides tried frantically to pull out the win. Unfortunately for the Green Machine, there wasn't a lot of time on their side, and the Tsunami would hold on for the 6-3 victory.
| GAME SUMMARY | 1ST | 2ND | FINAL | GOAL SCORERS |
| Green Machine | 0 | 3 | 3 | Bo Behlen (2G), Khamden Cone (1G) |
| Tsunami | 2 | 4 | 6 | Mason Klug (4G, 1A), Alec Flyr (2G, 2A), Austin Neuhalfen (1A) |
The Green Machine were then back for their second game of the day, having drawn the doubleheader for the first week of the league. They were up against the ThunderShock, who wasted little time jumping out to a big lead. Midway through the first period, the ThunderShock picked up its first goal from Alec Flyr, who was substituting for the shorthanded yellow squad. His brother, Colin Flyr, would then score two goals just :40 seconds apart, the first assisted by brother Alec, to extend the ThunderShock lead to 3-0. Roman Briley then got in on the scoring action, netting a hat trick in the final 4:47 of the first period. Colin Flyr had an assist on Briley's second goal. The Green Machine did get on the board, when Cody Zrust set up Khamden Cone for the team's first goal of the game with 1:15 to play. So, at the break, the ThunderShock were up by a comfortable 6-1 score.
Bo Behlen continued a career night, scoring the Green Machine's second goal of the game just one minute into the second period, assisted by Cone. But, the ThunderShock answered with four goals in a row. Colin Flyr scored his third and fourth goals of the game, while Briley picked up his fourth as well. Jon Foster found the back of the net for his first goal of the season. Down 10-2, the Green Machine never gave up, with Behlen scoring his second goal of the game to make the final score 10-3 in favor of the ThunderShock.
| GAME SUMMARY | 1ST | 2ND | FINAL | GOAL SCORERS |
| Green Machine | 1 | 2 | 3 | Bo Behlen (2G), Khamden Cone (1G, 1A), Cody Zrust (1A) |
| ThunderShock | 6 | 4 | 10 | Colin Flyr (4G, 1A), Roman Briley (4G), Jon Foster (1G) |
Exciting Hockey Games Monday Night
It was an exciting second week in roller hockey action at the Event Center. This week, the Tsunami drew the doubleheader, with their first opponent being the ThunderShock. The Tsunami didn't waste any time getting on the scoreboard, with Mason Klug netting a goal just 2:16 into the game. Klug scored his second goal just under two minutes later, giving the Tsunami an early 2-0 lead. The ThunderShock answered a few minutes later, when Jon Foster sent a pass up to Colin Flyr to make it 2-1. Alec Flyr extended the lead back to two goals when he scored with just over five minutes remaining in the first period. Klug would score his third goal of the game for the hat trick with 1:49 to play in the opening period.
In the second period, the roles were reversed. The ThunderShock pulled to within two when Roman Briley set up Colin Flyr for his second goal of the game just over two minutes into the period. About two minutes later, Briley punched one in to cut the Tsunami lead to just one. With 8:02 remaining in the game, Cole Hobza set up Colin Flyr for his hat trick goal, tying the game at five goals a side. The game would remain tied until late, when Klug's fourth goal of the game put the Tsunami back on top with just 1:30 to play. The goal would hold up as the game winner, with the Tsunami edging out the ThunderShock by the final score of 5-4.
| GAME SUMMARY | 1ST | 2ND | FINAL | GOAL SCORERS |
| Tsunami | 4 | 1 | 5 | Mason Klug (4G), Alec Flyr (1G) |
| ThunderShock | 1 | 3 | 4 | Colin Flyr (3G), Roman Briley (1G, 1A), Jon Foster (1A), Cole Hobza (1A) |
The second game of the night, between the Tsunami and Green Machine, was another thriller, with two goals scored in the final :20 seconds to keep things very interesting. The Tsunami continued to start off strong, scoring another early goal just under four minutes into the game, off the stick of Mason Klug. But, the Green Machine responded with a goal of their own less than two minutes later. Michael Wright set up Bo Behlen to tie things up at 1-1. Later in the first period, Alec Flyr scored to put the Tsunami back on top by one. The lead was again short-lived, as Behlen would again tie up the game less than a minute later. Just before intermission, with just 2:42 to play in the opening period, Klug once again put the Tsunami on top, 3-2.
In the second period, there was plenty of goal scoring to start (and finish) the period. Just :22 seconds into the second, Flyr scored his second goal of the game giving the Tsunami a two goal lead early in the period. Less than a minute later, the Green Machine answered, with Cody Zrust netting his first goal of the game. Four minutes later, Zrust would score his second goal, tying the game at 4-4. The scoring continued for the Machine, with Michael Wright giving the green squad their first lead of the night with 8:30 to play in the game. Less than two minutes later, they extended their lead to two off of a nice goal from Simon Janssen, his first of the season. The Green Machine then made it 7-4 when Wright scored his second goal of the game. With just under three minutes remaining in the game, the Tsunami struck back, with Klug scoring picking up another hat trick, cutting the lead to just two goals. But, with :17 seconds remaining in the game, Zrust scored his hat trick goal to put the green team back on top by three. To keep things interesting, and in his own hat trick fashion, Flyr buried his third goal of the game, assisted by Connor Krivanek, to make it 8-6 with just four ticks left on the clock. And, that is how this one would end, with the Green Machine picking up their first win of the season, 8-6.
| GAME SUMMARY | 1ST | 2ND | FINAL | GOAL SCORERS |
| Tsunami | 3 | 3 | 6 | Mason Klug (3G), Alec Flyr (3G), Connor Krivanek (1A) |
| Green Machine | 2 | 6 | 8 | Cody Zrust (3G), Michael Wright (2G, 1A), Bo Behlen (2G), Simon Janssen (1G) |
After just the second week of league play, things are very close in the standings, with the Tsunami alone at the top. But, just behind and tied for second are the ThunderShock and Green Machine. It's shaping up to be another exciting season of roller hockey at the Event Center.
As a reminder, we will have a brief ten minute practice session prior to each week's games. League play begins at 6:10pm, followed immediately by a second game. Stop on out to check out the games live in person. There's no charge to get in, so take advantage of a great time, and watch some great hockey action at the Event Center.
