Fundraising Quick Links: Contact Us to set up your fundraiser
The Columbus Hockey and Skate Center is always happy to help out in the community. Often times, we donate passes or other prizes to area organizations for their fundraising events. But, did you know that we can also host your fundraising event? Best of all, we make it fun and easy to help you raise the money you need!
Schools, churches, non-profit organizations, and other groups can make money with our Fundraising Program. For best results, we recommend having one fundraising skate event per month, or on a regular schedule. Here's how the program works:
The rink will print up and provide you the flyers to hand out to each child. We can also provide posters to hang in prominent, high traffic areas, such as doors, exits, lunchrooms, etc. We will charge $4 at the door for admission to a two-hour session, and just $1 per skate rental. Then, we will split all admissions with you at the following scale:
If 50 skaters attend, you will make $100.
If 75 skaters attend, you will make $150.
If 100 skaters attend, you will make $250.
If 125 skaters attend, you will make $350.
If 150 skaters attend, you will make $450...and so on...
Not only do you get to make money for your school, church, or organization, but you get to bring everyone together for lots of fun, too! Most schools prefer to let parents and faculty skate free to encourage a fun, family event. To help you make your attendance, we will also donate a pair of skates for any school, church, or group who hosts three or more fundraising events during a year. These skates can be raffled off by having a drawing for those who attend the skate night. Of course, in order for us to know to have the raffle, these three or more fundraising events would need to be scheduled at the same time. But, you better hurry, as our calendar fills up fast with these and other events.
To improve attendance, and have a successful fundraising event, we recommend scheduling one fundraiser per month to create an anticipated regular event. We also recommend that you avoid scheduling a fundraiser on any day that school is not in session, as this negatively affects turnout. The provided flyers should not be handed out more than 10 days in advance, but rather five to eight days out. Fundraiser posters should be hung in high traffic areas, such as entry and exit doors, lunchrooms, etc. Use newsletters, PA system announcements, teacher reminders, etc to help promote and remind skaters to attend. Finally, encourage staff to participate, as the kids love seeing their teachers, parents, administrators, etc out on skates!
Currently, we are available for fundraising events on Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday evenings between 6pm and 9pm. We can also host fundraising events on weekends, pending sports league schedules and rink availability. Saturday evenings from 4:30pm to 6:30pm are also available throughout the year.
To reserve the rink for your FUNdraiser, please contact the rink early to reserve your date(s) before they are all gone.
