FALL DODGEBALL LEAGUES BEGIN TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 30th! Registration deadline for this league is noon on Saturday, September 20th. Teams must have their completed team roster and registration fees AT THE RINK by noon on the 20th. NO LATE REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED! Please contact the rink if other arrangements are necessary. Schedules will be written starting on September 21st, and captains will be notified of game times immediately upon their completion. Schedules will also be posted online as soon as possible, and be made available starting the first week of league play.
Dodgeball leagues are coming back to the Columbus Hockey and Skate Center! That's right, the popular schoolyard game and Friday night skate tradition is now being offered in its own official sports league!
The league will run approximately 10 weeks in length. Our adult division is open to team registrations only. If you are an individual player looking for a team, please call the rink at (402)562-5663, or email us. Sometimes, teams are looking for additional players to help fill their rosters, and we can let those teams know of individuals looking to play.
In the adult division, in order to have a team, there must be a minimum of six players on the roster. There is no maximum limit to the number of players on a roster, but for your safety, a maximum of twelve players can participate in a game at a time (six on the floor and six on the bench). Players will not be allowed to enter and exit the rink during the game, and any additional players (above the twelve participants) must watch from outside of the glass. Rosters with an excessive number of players are recommended to split and form an additional team to increase playing time for all participants.
Team entry fee for the adult division is $200 for the entire team. Obviously, the more players you are able to get on your roster, the cheaper the league will be for all. In the past, teams have found sponsors to help cover part or all of their entry fee. League games will be played on Tuesday evenings.
To be guaranteed a spot in the league, you must register as soon as possible, as only the first 8 for each age are guaranteed a spot in this current league. We have, and will continue to, accept more than eight teams as time allows. However, we can only guarantee that the first eight teams who register will be accepted into the league. Hurry, as spots can fill up very, VERY fast.
Games will be operated under the official National Amateur Dodgeball Association rules, slightly modified to fit our specific needs and facility. An official online rule book will be posted on our site soon. Otherwise, rule books will be given to each registered player through their team's captain. Rules will also be available at the rink upon request, and may be posted in the rink during league play. Games will be officiated by a member of the skating rink staff, or other arrangements made prior to the start of the season.
