Columbus Event Center hosts indoor soccer leagues from October through April each year. Our Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons are open to boys and girls ages 5 and up. We also host divisions and/or drop-in soccer for adults. For our 2013-2014 seasons, age is determined as of July 31, 2014.
Registrations are currently being accepted for our indoor soccer leagues. The cost to participate in our indoor soccer leagues is $40/player for ages 7 and older, and just $25/player for our Under 6 division. Registrations will be accepted at the Event Center during normal business hours, by phone (leave a message outside of business hours), or online at any time (desktop version).
Through our desktop version site (accessible through any desktop PC, some tablets, or by clicking on the 'desktop version' link at the bottom of your screen), you can register online 24/7. Or, visit our 'Contact' page for email links or map to our facility.
Why Indoor Soccer?
Our indoor soccer leagues provide a unique twist on the outdoor version of the game. Played inside our hockey rink, the ball is rarely out of play, leading to high-scoring, fast-paced soccer action that never stops! Players can also substitute on the fly, meaning there aren't any lengthy breaks sitting on the bench (we do enforce equal playing time for all players). Teamwork and good sportsmanship is taught to all players. Indoor soccer is also great practice when the weather doesn't allow outside training. We also keep detailed stats and game recaps for all games. Bottom line, our indoor soccer leagues are tons of fun for all ages!
Recreational vs. Competitive Divisions
We offer both recreational (individual registrations only) and competitive (team registrations only) division. Our recreational leagues are purely for fun, with volunteer coaches and equal playing time for all participants. It is a great league for any individual soccer player looking to get extra touches on the ball and improve their skills, and is a great way for new players to get started in the game.
Our competitive division is for team entries only. Club and travel teams can register to compete against other area teams in a division meant for more advanced soccer players. Both boys and girls divisions are available in all age brackets, including adults.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are there weekly practices? Unlike AYSO, there are no mid-week practices for indoor soccer. Players are allowed a few minutes of practice or warm-up prior to their games each week. No additional trips to the rink for nightly practices.
What equipment is needed? Players are only required to have shin guards (covered by any color sock or pants) and flat-sole shoes. Shoes with cleats of any sort are not allowed, but any tennis shoe or indoor soccer shoe will work. Other than that, comfortable shorts or pants. For safety, no jewelry, watches, bracelets, etc are allowed.
Do I have to buy a jersey? Columbus Event Center will provide all players with a numbered shirt to be used throughout the season. At the end of the season, you will need to return the shirt to the Event Center or pay for its replacement. There are no color requirements for other articles of clothing, including socks.
